Book I’m Reading

This one was given to me by a dear friend — my mother-in-law. I love reading nearly as much as she does. She’s given years of her life to nurturing a love for books in those she loves.

Dorsett here dives into the little-known history of the chaplains who served in the various branches of the US Military in the Second World War. I had no idea the number was so large but, by 1945, the US armed forces had 12,000,000 men and women in their ranks.

Different military branches had different targets, but most desired to field one chaplain for every 1,000-1,500 soldiers. These men went through additional training to be prepared for the unique challenge of serving the spiritual needs of soldiers fighting a war in some of the darkest days in modern history.

Podcast I’m Listening To

I listen to each weekly episode of the All-In Podcast, not because I agree with every perspective shared, but because I don’t. These guys have strong opinions but, for the most part, they’re incredibly intellectually honest. I learn something each week; this week was no different.

If we (teams, organizations, families, churches, etc.) shy away from having open, honest conversations about hard topics, no forward progress will be made.

If you want, jump straight to timestamp 39:00 and following. It’s good stuff.
