Book I’m Reading
I’ve long wanted to read a book on Genghis Khan because all of Asia, and the world, is the way it is today (country/nation boundaries, technological progress, etc.) in part because of him.
Admittedly, much of the chronicling of his life and exploits is questioned by scholars and historians. This is partly because influential figures often write the history they want people to believe about them. Nevertheless, McLynn writes brilliantly and comprehensively about this outsized historical figure.
