After finishing Ringworld, I checked out the audiobook version of The Ringworld Engineers which is the second (and final) book of the series. It was much shorter than I expected and was a quick read. The first one was better. I wouldn’t recommend this second one.

Planning to finish this one this week. I’ve long known that the most effective way for me to figure something out is to write about it. I’ve always enjoyed writing, and it’s growing increasingly useful as the years go by.

A leader at SonSet Solutions let me borrow this one this week. It’s a quick read, intended to introduce an organization to EOS which stands for Entrepreneurial Operating System. EOS is a well-oiled system for aligning all parts of an organization behind the vision of the organization, documenting and helping teammates execute the core operational processes, and running meetings in a productive way.

We’re already doing a few things they suggest and other ideas came to mind as well. From the Goodreads summary:

I just finished this excellent book on the church office of Deacon. Smethurst’s heart is to serve the local church and it comes out in this book. It is biblically faithful, detailed, and thoroughly helpful. I’d recommend it to anyone needing a quick read on the office of Deacon.
