Book I’m Reading
After being disappointed in Foundations by Asimov, a friend and reader of the site here suggested the Ringworld series by Larry Niven. Thanks, Ted! I’m nearly done with book #1 and, so far, it’s much better than Foundations. The pace is better and the story is more cohesive. There are some calculations (mostly distance, since they’re in space) that are tough to follow listening to the audiobook but, other than that, it’s enjoyable.
Video I’m Watching
An excellent, insightful discussion on the Biden administration’s track record on policy for blockchain and AI startups, from two of the all-time greatest tech investors of all time.
They also highlight the differences between Biden and Trump’s policies, now that we’ve had four-year terms from each. They recently had a 3-hour dinner with Trump in which they discussed and clarified many of these things with him.

I just got off the phone with a retired Secret Service agent from Butler county PA. Not only did he serve on the Presidential detail for years, he trained Secret Service agents specifically in response to critical shooting scenarios.
