Book I'm Reading

I finished this one and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The lessons here were immediately relevant in my own church and I was able to share insights from the book at our annual leadership retreat this past weekend. Specifically, that every church should intentionally evaluate the spaces, scope, and sequence of their discipleship ministries and always be improving.

I wholeheartedly endorse this book, even if it’s a little repetitive in places.

Podcast I'm Listening To

Gavin Baker is a venture capitalist who understands the AI industry better than most. He has consistently been out in front in predicting the best places to invest based on the progression of the technology.

In early 2025, he called Micron ($MU) one of the best investments one could make in AI. Micron went up +260% in 2025.

This year, his fund’s (Atreides Management) largest position is Pure Storage Inc ($PSTG). It represents nearly 9% of their fund.

On Bitcoin

The Bitcoin price has been in a fairly tight range for the last several weeks. Historically, price breaks out to the upside of ranges like this more often than to the downside. The reason is that sellers have been exhausted, and buyers have shown sustained interest in buying at these levels.

I expect the gold’s outperformance of Bitcoin in 2025 to begin reversing back toward Bitcoin in 2026. Not that gold will retrace; it may actually continue up. But if the macro picture (prompting the debasement trade) remains or even strengthens, and institutional interest in Bitcoin continues or increases, Bitcoin should outperform gold by a significant margin this year.
