Books I’m Reading
I saw this book on the shelf at our library and had to pick it up, especially after reading Ingenious the week before. Brookhiser has an approachable way of writing, tracing the history of liberty as the key ideal in the founding and continued development of the United States of America.
I must say, the further we progress into the future as a nation, the further we drift from our original ideal of liberty. Sadly, history would tell us not to expect anything different.
From the Goodreads summary:
Nationalism supplies feelings of belonging, identity, and recognition. It binds us to our neighbors and tells us who we are. But increasingly — from the United States to India, from Russia to Burma — nationalism is being invoked for unworthy causes to disdain minorities or to support despots. As a result, nationalism has become to many a dirty word.
In Give Me Liberty, award-winning historian and biographer Richard Brookhiser offers up a truer and more inspiring story of American nationalism as it has evolved over four hundred years. He examines America’s history through thirteen documents that made the United States a new free country. We are what we are because of them; we stay true to what we are by staying true to them.
Americans have always sought liberty, asked for it, fought for it; every victory has been the fulfillment of old hopes and promises. This is our nationalism, and we should be proud of it.
Video I’m Watching
I’ve been closely watching The Smarter Web Company and their journey as a Bitcoin treasury company.
Here’s their CEO Andrew Webley in A Week in the World of SWC – Episode #10:

On Bitcoin
One of the trends I’m watching is the acceleration of Bitcoin purchases from 150+ publicly traded companies. Pay attention to this. Not only are the companies buying more weekly, but more companies are following suit.
Since January 1, 2025, publicly traded corporations increased their Bitcoin holdings from 694,147 to 943,964 bitcoins:

This trajectory will continue through the current bull market. Don’t fade this trend.
